In the 50's and 60's there was at least one object in crystal with a sun motif ( Pinwheel ) in every household, a classic wedding gift.
Real cut crystal can be reconized by it's weight (it is heavier than glass because it contains lead) and its sharp edges (unlike its imitation molded glass, which has softer edges). As it is cut by hand, there are never two exactly identical pieces. This is what makes their charm if not their value, especially sentimental.
